1. How can I find out if I have a clear line-of-sight to a satellites?
   To determine if you have a clear line-of-sight to the any Network satellites, and to point/peak your satellite dish on these satellites, you will need the azimuth and elevation angles. To determine your azimuth and elevation angles, simply find your zip code in satellite's Zip Code Tables, or download satellite's Application for zip-Code Program
2. I have a lot of tall trees in the way between my dish antenna and the satellite. What should I do?
   Trees can cause interference with the satellites and dish. If you cannot find a different or higher location that provides line-of-sight to the satellites, you may have to trim your trees! You can mount your dish antenna up to 100 feet away from your house without adding any signal amplifiers, if necessary.
3. I would like to know if the satellite TV dish antenna must be installed outside the home. I live in an apartment and am restricted to certain codes.
   The satellite dish antenna needs to placed outside in order to receive the signal. Certain window materials do allow the signal to pass through, but you will lose signal strength.
4. Can I get Dish Network if live in an apartment/townhome?
   You can get 100% digital service without owning a house! In fact, a January 1999 FCC ruling states that apartment, condominium, town home and single family home renters can install either satellite dishes or TV antennas in exclusive areas. Visit the FCC website for details. If you need one, a Landlord Permission form is available.
5. How can I lock out a-dult programming?
   The Adult Guard feature gives you the capability to hide the A-dult channels from your Electronic Program Guide or lock them out. This prevents any children in the household from viewing the programming or accessing the program information.
   You can restrict your receiver from viewing programming that contains:
   1.) Certain ratings (PG 13, R, NC-17, etc.)
   2.) Certain expanded ratings (violence, nudity, etc.)
   3.) Certain channels (HBO, ESPN, etc.)
   Once the locks feature is activated, the system will require a 4-digit PIN number (that you create) to access any program that contains the ratings that you have locked out. To learn more about the locks feature, please refer to your User's Guide.
